At times rather bouncy to be considered true shoegaze, the Chambermaids' sound is really more of a hybrid between shoegaze and regular indie rock. They seem to have got the formula just right on this album, where foot-tappingly catchy tracks intermingle with slower-paced dreamier ones. Their previous albums are more punky but also worth checking out.

Like another poster said, this is why Bandcamp is cool, I would have most likely never heard of this artist unless it was through this platform. Love how the shoegaze/etc. (insert ______ genre here) revival is a worldwide effort, yet not sounding all like copies of copies of the Creation Records bands. TuT, I bought this solely on the fact that I love these songs, so thank you for creating them!
